An old man looks at the ocean from a New Jersey boardwalk outside a skee ball arcade. He is beaten into a coma by three hockey stick-wielding teenagers, the Stygian Triplets.

Two fallen angels — Bartleby (Ben Affleck), a watcher, and Loki (Matt Damon), formerly the Angel of Death — were banished from Heaven after Bartleby convinced Loki to quit his position and find one that doesn’t involve mass slaughter. This culminates in Loki giving God the finger, and both angels being exiled to Wisconsin and permanently banned from Heaven. The two see their potential salvation when a church in Red Bank, New Jersey, celebrates its centennial anniversary with a plenary indulgence. By passing through the doors of the church, they can have their sins forgiven and upon death regain access to Heaven. They don’t realize by doing this they will overrule the word of God. Since the basis of existence is that God is infallible, proving God wrong would destroy existence.

Metatron (Alan Rickman), the seraph who acts as the Voice of God, appears to abortion clinic worker Bethany Sloane (Linda Fiorentino) and gives her the task of preventing Bartleby and Loki’s return. Bethany is initially against the mission as she has lost her faith in God due to her infertility and subsequent divorce. Bethany is attacked by the Stygian Triplets and saved by Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith), two prophets whom Metatron said would appear. She is also aided by Rufus (Chris Rock), the thirteenth apostle, left out of the Bible because he is black, and Serendipity (Salma Hayek), a Muse with writer’s block turned stripper. Bethany learns that she is the Last Scion, the last descendant of Mary and Joseph, and the last relative of Jesus Christ.

Bethany removes the life support from God’s human body, allowing Him/Her to escape — and inadvertently killing Bethany. God (Alanis Morissette) manifests at the church before Bartleby, who apologizes for his acts. God kills Bartleby with the power of Her voice. Silent Bob shows up with Bethany’s bloodstained corpse. God resurrects Bethany and conceives an heir inside her. The heavenly beings return to Heaven through the church doors.

Doogal

The film begins with a shaggy, candy-loving dog named Dougal trying to get sweets from a candy cart. He goes so far as to place a tack in the road to pop its tire, thinking to be rewarded for watching the cart. After convincing the driver to leave, Dougal is trying to decide which candy he will request when he accidentally starts the cart up again and causes it to collide with the titular magic roundabout at the center of the village. A blue jack-in-the-box-like creature emerges from the top and flies away, snatching a decorative Foot Guard figurine from the roundabout before leaving. The roundabout freezes over, trapping repairman Mr. Rusty, Dougal’s young owner Florence, and two other children named Basil and Coral within an icy cell.

The villagers are horrified by this development, therefore call upon the resident wizard, Zebedee, also a jack-in-the-box-like creature, for help. He explains that the roundabout acted as a mystical prison for the evil ice wizard Zeebad. With it broken Zeebad is free to work his magic on the world again (it is implied he started the first ice age). The only way to return Zeebad to his prison is to place three magic diamonds in the roundabout, or watch the world slowly freeze over again. Zebedee sends Dougal, Brian the cynical snail, Ermintrude the opera-singing cow, Dylan the hippie rabbit, and the magic Train to accomplish this mission. Zeebad animates the Foot Guard figurine, Sergeant Sam, and enlists him to find the enchanted diamonds first, for with them Zeebad can freeze the sun itself. Meanwhile, Zebedee’s fellowship makes camp in the icy mountains near Zeebad’s old lair. Dougal wanders off during the night and is captured by Zeebad. Ermintrude breaks him out of his prison; after a short chase, Zebedee shows up to battle his evil counterpart. Zeebad gains the upper hand and overpowers Zebedee, freezing him and collapsing the cliff on which he stands.

Mourning their dispatcher as dead, Dougal and his friends embark to recover the diamonds. This task takes them to a lava-bordered volcano, an ancient temple filled with booby-traps and evil skeleton guards (at which point Dylan reveals an exceptional knowledge of several types of martial arts), and a final showdown with Zeebad, where it is revealed that Sergeant Sam had contained the third diamond in his chest. Zeebad obtains all three diamonds during the course of the film, and attempts to freeze the Sun. Ermintrude, Brian, Dylan, and finally Dougal intervene to stop him; when they have done so, Zeebad is imprisoned in the carousel again and Zebedee is restored to his friends. The ice surrounding the carousel melts, freeing the people trapped therein; of them, Florence is comatose and must be revived by a desperate Dougal. A moose, whose color had been changed from brown to blue by Zeebad in the earlier scenes of the film, is restored to his true color by Zebedee. Dougal, who vowed to give up sugar when it seemed all was lost, forgets his former pledge completely, but now realizes the true value of his friends and the good qualities of selflessness, courage, and humility.

Monroeville, Pennsylvania roommates Zack Brown (Seth Rogen) and Miriam “Miri” Linky (Elizabeth Banks), who’ve been friends since the first grade, are facing hard times and a mountain of debt. Miri works at the local shopping mall and Zack works at a coffee shop, but they are so inundated with unpaid bills that their water gets turned off right before their high school reunion. At the reunion, Miri attempts to seduce her attractive former schoolmate Bobby Long (Brandon Routh), while Zack strikes up a conversation with Brandon St. Randy (Justin Long), who reveals that he is a gay porn star, and Bobby’s boyfriend.

After returning home from the reunion, the apartment’s electricity is turned off. Inspired by both the cultural mainstreaming of porn and the successful viral video that a coffee shop patron shot of Miri in a state of undress, Zack convinces Miri to film a pornographic movie together to make money.

Gathering a group of acquaintances and hired crew, they decide to film a Star Wars parody film called Star Whores. Their coworker, Delaney (Craig Robinson), who is made the producer, initially rents filming equipment and a building to use as a studio. But when they return the next day to begin filming, the group arrives to see the building being demolished, along with the equipment inside. They are told that that the man that rented it to them had run off with the money. Remembering that their boss threatened to install hidden video surveillance, Zack finds it, and decides to use it to replace their lost filming equipment. Zack revamps the film to one with a coffee shop motif, Swallow My Cockuccino, which they will film after hours at the coffee shop where Zack works using the surveillance camera.

Three months later, Zack sees Delaney and Deacon (Jeff Anderson), the cameraman, and learns that Miri never filmed the scene with Lester. Zack goes to Miri’s apartment, and reveals to her that he never slept with Stacey, as they only ended up talking about Miri and Zack’s relationship. He pours his heart out to Miri, telling her that he loves her, and in response, Miri reciprocates. They marry, and start their own video production company, Zack and Miri Make Your Porno, which makes amateur videos for couples.

Thomas Gabriel (Olyphant), an extremely talented computer hacker and ex-NSA agent, along with his girlfriend Mai Linh (Maggie Q) have contacted several hackers across the United States, paying them handsomely to write segments of code. However, after each hacker has delivered the promised code, they are killed by a team of assassins sent by Mai. When Gabriel’s efforts are detected by a hack on the FBI computers, a nationwide roundup of all known top hackers is started. New York City police officer John McClane (Willis), out late to check up on his daughter Lucy Gennaro (Winstead), is assigned to bring in Matthew Farrell (Long) from Camden, New Jersey, who was writing code for Gabriel. As McClane collects Farrell, the two are attacked by Mai’s assassins, but McClane is able to extract Farrell and kill most of their attackers.

McClane drives Farrell down to the FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C., where Farrell is questioned. As the transportation grid and stock market are brought down by Gabriel, Farrell believes that Gabriel is trying to run a “fire sale”, to demonstrate the over reliance of the country on computer-controlled systems, creating an “everything must go” situation by shutting down vital systems one by one. McClane and Farrell are driven by the FBI to a secure building, but Gabriel and Mai are able to locate Farrell and divert their convoy, sending gunmen in a helicopter to kill them. At the end of the chase scene, McClane sends a police car over a tollbooth to destroy the helicopter.

McClane dispatches the remainder of Gabriel’s men, but Gabriel holds Lucy and Farrell hostage. McClane is wounded after Gabriel shoots him in the shoulder. He forces McClane to watch as he prepares to kill Lucy and Farrell. However, McClane pushes Gabriel’s gun into his own body, forcing it to fire through his own shoulder and into Gabriel, killing him. McClane and Lucy are reunited, but to McClane’s chagrin, Lucy and Farrell express a mutual romantic interest.

Good Will Hunting

Though Will Hunting (Matt Damon) has a genius-level intellect, eidetic memory and a profound gift for mathematics, he works as a janitor at MIT and lives alone in a sparsely-furnished house in a rundown South Boston neighborhood. An abused foster child, he subconsciously blames himself for his unhappy upbringing and turns this self-loathing into a form of self-sabotage in both his professional and emotional lives.

In the first week of class, Will solves a difficult graduate-level problem taken from algebraic graph theory that Professor Gerald Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgård), a Fields Medalist and combinatorialist, leaves on a chalkboard as a challenge posed to his students, hoping someone might find the solution by the end of the semester. When it is solved quickly and anonymously, Lambeau posts a much more difficult problem—one that took him and his colleagues two years to prove. When Lambeau chances upon a mere janitor writing on the board, Lambeau chases him away. However, when Lambeau returns to the board, he is astounded to find the correct answer there. He then sets out to track Will down.

Meanwhile, Will beats a bully named Carmine Scarpaglia half to death, as he harassed Will 15 years ago in kindergarten, and he now faces imprisonment after attacking a police officer who was responding to the attack. Realizing Will has enormous potential, Lambeau goes to Will’s trial and intervenes on his behalf, offering him a choice: either go to jail, or be released under Lambeau’s personal supervision to study mathematics and see a therapist. Will chooses the latter, even though he does not believe he needs therapy.

When his buddies present him with a rebuilt Chevrolet Nova for his 21st birthday, he decides to go after Skylar, setting aside his lucrative corporate and government job offers. Will leaves a brief note for Sean, using one of Sean’s own quips, “I had to go see about a girl.” Chuckie discovers that Will has finally gone. Will is then shown starting for California for a new beginning with Skylar.
